How you build a workflow

1. Create your workflow Give it a name and open the canvas. That's the whole setup. 2. Add your first node Click Add Node and pick from the built-in library — 4,371 nodes across 310+ categories and 30+ business areas. Sales, finance, support, operations, healthcare, retail and more. The node you need already exists. 3. Tell it what to do — in plain English This is the part that makes VURNA different. You don't fill in technical fields. You type what you want in normal words, and VURNA's AI turns it into the exact configuration the node needs. No JSON. No syntax. No guessing field names. 4. Connect your nodes Draw a line from one node to the next to set the order the work happens in. 5. Add branches — optional Need the workflow to make a decision? Add a branch. If the amount is over 5,000, go this way. If not, go that way. Only add it if your process needs it. 6. Add loops Set how many times a node should repeat. Useful when the same step has to run over a list — every customer, every invoice, every row. 7. Add parallel groups Choose which nodes should run at the same time instead of waiting for each other. Group them together and the workflow finishes faster. 8. Add memory Give your workflow memory so it can carry information between steps and remember what happened on earlier runs. 9. Choose your AI provider Bring your own AI key and bind it to the workflow. You stay in control of which model runs and what you pay for it. 10. Set your advanced settings Decide what happens when something goes wrong — where errors get routed, whether completed steps roll back, and your spending and runtime limits so a bad run can't burn credit all night. 11. Let AI check your work As you build, VURNA reviews the workflow and tells you what to improve — disconnected nodes, missing inputs, loops with no exit, unreachable branches, cost warnings. You get a readiness score before you go anywhere near live. 12. Test every section Test each part on its own instead of running the whole thing and hoping. Fix one section, test it, move to the next. 13. Now set your trigger Only once the workflow is built and tested do you decide what starts it and where it runs — a webhook, a schedule, an API call, or a connected platform. This is why the same workflow can run in different places without being rebuilt.

Why chains exist

One workflow does one job well. But real business processes are bigger than one job. Instead of building one giant workflow that's impossible to fix when it breaks, build small workflows that each do one thing properly — then chain them. Every piece stays testable on its own, and you can reuse the same workflow in different chains.

How you build a chain

1. Pick your workflows Choose from the workflows you've already built and tested. Nothing to rebuild — a chain uses them as they are, with their own nodes, branches, loops and settings already inside. 2. Choose how they run Pick one of three patterns depending on what your process needs. 3. Set how they work together Decide what each workflow passes to the next one, and what the whole chain shares. Workflows write their results to a shared space so later workflows can read what earlier ones produced. 4. Run it and read the report The chain runs and gives you one report for the whole process — what each workflow did, what it produced, how long it took, and where anything failed.

The three ways a chain can run

Sequential — one after another Workflow 1 finishes, then Workflow 2 starts, then Workflow 3. Use this when each step depends on the one before it, and order matters. Example: Confirm the order → raise the invoice → book the delivery. Mother and child — all at once, then bring it together The child workflows all start at the same time and run side by side. When they're all done, the mother workflow runs last and works with everything they produced. Example: Five workflows pull numbers from five different systems at the same time, then one workflow builds the final report from all of them. Graph — the exact shape you draw Draw your own map. Some workflows run at the same time, others wait for specific ones to finish first. VURNA works out the correct running order from the connections you drew. Example: A and B run together, C waits for both, D waits only for A.

One report for the whole chain

A chain doesn't give you five separate results to piece together. It gives you one. See every workflow in the chain, whether it passed or failed, what it produced, how long it took, and the total cost of the run. If something breaks, you see exactly which workflow broke and why — not just that "the process failed."
